  • 1 Remove ends. Leave beans whole, or cut into 1-inch pieces. Cook beans as desired.
  • 2 <b>Green and Wax Beans Cooking Guide</b> <P><b>To Microwave:</b> Cut into pieces. Place beans and water (1/2 cup per 1 pound beans) in microwavable container. Cover and microwave on High 9 to 12 minutes for 1 pound beans or until crisp; drain.</P> <P><b>To Boil:</b> Heat 1 inch water (salted if desired) to boiling in saucepan. Add beans. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Boil gently 5 minutes. Cover and boil 5 to 10 minutes longer for 1 pound beans or until crisp-tender; drain.</P> <P><b>To Steam:</b> Place steamer basket in 1/2 inch water in saucepan or skillet (water should not touch bottom of basket). Place beans in steamer basket. Cover tightly and heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Steam 10 to 12 minutes for 1 pound beans or until crisp-tender.</P>
