You can’t go wrong with barbecued chicken for a satisfying and simple summer meal.

Ingredients

1 1/4
cups barbecue sauce
3- to 3 1/2-pound cut-up broiler-fryer chicken

Directions

  • 1 Heat coals or gas grill for direct heat.
  • 2 Cover and grill chicken, skin sides up, 4 to 6 inches from medium heat 15 minutes. Turn chicken; brush with sauce.
  • 3 Cover and grill 20 to 40 minutes longer, turning occasionally and brushing 2 or 3 times with sauce, until juice of chicken is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut.
  • 4 Heat remaining sauce to boiling; boil 1 minute. Serve sauce with chicken.
Tips  

Add corn on the cob, potato salad and baked beans for a perfect summer meal.
