Tender-tangy round beef steak marinated in seasoned red wine before it's grilled makes a mouth-watering meal!

Ingredients

Marinade

1/2
cup purchased red wine vinegar and oil salad dressing or Italian salad dressing
2
tablespoons sesame seed, toasted*
1/2
to 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Steak

1
lb. boneless beef round steak (1 to 1 1/2 inches thick)

Directions

  • 1 GRILL DIRECTIONS: In 12x8-inch (2-quart) baking dish or resealable food storage plastic bag, combine all marinade ingredients; mix well. Add round steak; turn to coat. Cover dish or seal bag. Refrigerate at least 3 hours, turning once.
  • 2 Heat grill. When ready to grill, remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 8 to 20 minutes or until of desired doneness, turning once.
Tips

Marinating the steak in an oil-and-vinegar blend flavors the meat, and the vinegar serves as a tenderizer. Be aware that the vinegar will change the surface color of the meat from dark or bright red to a brownish shade.

*To toast sesame seed, spread in shallow baking pan; bake at 350°F. for 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Or place seed in small skillet; stir over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown.

To broil steak, place on broiler pan; broil 4 to 6 inches from heat using times above as a guide.
