Ingredients

  • 1  cup packed brown sugar
  • 1  cup (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 1  egg yolk
  • 2  cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
  • 1  teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4  teaspoon salt
  • 1  egg white
  • 1/4  cup chopped macadamia nuts
  • 1/4  cup flaked coconut

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 275º. Mix brown sugar, margarine, vanilla and egg yolk in medium bowl. Stir in flour, ginger and salt. Spread in ungreased jelly roll pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch. Brush dough with egg white. Sprinkle with nuts and coconut; press in lightly. Bake 1 hour. While warm, cut into 2 1/2-inch squares, then cut each square diagonally in half; cool.
