    Ingredients

    • 1  (16 oz.) (8 cups) uncooked fine egg noodles
    • 1 1/2  lb. lean ground beef
    • 1/2  cup chopped onion
    • 1  (10 3/4-oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
    • 1  (10 3/4-oz.) can condensed cream of chicken soup
    • 1  (4-oz.) can mushroom pieces and stems, undrained
    • 1  (12 oz.) (3 cups) cubed colby or Cheddar cheese
    • 3/4  cup milk
    • 1/2  teaspoon salt
    • 1/4  teaspoon pepper
    • 1  cup chow mein noodles
    • 1  cup cashew pieces or peanuts, if desired

    Directions

    1. 1Cook noodles to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; rinse withhot water.
    2. 2Heat oven to 350°F. In large skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain. In
    3. 3large bowl, combine soups, mushrooms, cheese, milk, salt and pepper; mix well.
    4. 4Add cooked egg noodles and meat; stir gently. Pour into 2 ungreased 2-quart
    5. 5casseroles. Cover; bake at 350°F. for 25 to 30 minutes or until thoroughly
    6. 6heated. Uncover; sprinkle with chow mein noodles and cashews. Bake an
    7. 7additional 10 minutes.
