Holiday Hot Cakes and Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Bisquick™ Original baking mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 10 drops red food coloring
  • 10 drops green food coloring
  • 2 tablespoons white pearl sprinkles
  • 1 tablespoon edible red glitter sprinkles
  • 4 mini candy canes, crushed
  • 2 tablespoon vanilla frosting
  • 1 teaspoon chocolate sprinkles
  • 1 star cookie cutter

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick™ mix, milk and eggs. Whisk until combined. Divide the mixture evenly into 2 bowls (one bowl per color, so use more bowls if you plan to use more colors).

    Squirt the food coloring into each bowl. (Amount of food coloring can vary according to what kind you're using, so test it after each three drops or so.)

    Heat a lightly greased griddle over medium-high. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle. Sprinkle each cake with the crushed candy canes. When you see bubbles, flip the cake and finish cooking.

    Also, heat your waffle iron for the waffle trees. Pour the green batter into the waffle iron, making 4 trees at a time.

    Once all the pancakes and waffles are cooked, take the star cookie cutter and cut out some stars. Then get to decorating!

    Fill the tree holes with desired sprinkles. Using the vanilla frosting, create the tree trunks, followed by a nice sprinkling of chocolate sprinkles. Top the stars with more pearl dots. Stack em' up and eat!
