Easy chicken sandwiches made with sourdough bread- filling dinner ready in just 15 minutes!

Ingredients

1/3
cup reduced-calorie mayonnaise or salad dressing

tablespoons finely chopped green onions

(1/2-inch-thick) slices sourdough bread, toasted

(6-oz.) pkg. thinly sliced oven-roasted chicken breast

pear, thinly sliced
1
oz. (1/4 cup) shredded reduced-fat sharp Cheddar cheese
1/8
teaspoon paprika, if desired

Directions

  • 1 <b>Broiler Directions:</b> In small bowl, combine mayonnaise and green onions. Spread evenly on toasted bread slices. Layer chicken and pear slices evenly over bread. Place on broiler pan.
  • 2 Broil 4 to 6 inches from heat for 5 minutes. Sprinkle evenly with cheese; broil an additional 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with paprika.
Tips  

A firm-textured pear, such as Bosc, works best in this recipe.

Sourdough bread, a San Francisco specialty, gets its slightly tangy flavor from being leavened with a special fermented "starter dough" instead of ordinary yeast.
