Ingredients

1
lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1
cup chopped onion
1
clove garlic, finely chopped
2 1/2
cups hot water
1
cup milk
1
box Hamburger Helper™ crunchy taco
1
can (2.25 oz) sliced ripe olives, drained
1
can (11 oz) whole kernel corn, drained
2
cups broken tortilla chips
3
cups torn romaine or iceberg lettuce
1/2
cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
Salsa, if desired

Directions

  • 1 In 12-inch skillet, brown beef, onion and garlic over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain.
  • 2 Stir in hot water, milk, sauce mix, topping mix and uncooked rice (from Hamburger Helper box), olives and corn. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender.
  • 4 Evenly sprinkle tortilla chips and corn chips (from Hamburger Helper box) in bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish. Spoon hamburger mixture evenly over chips. Top with lettuce and cheese. Serve with salsa and additional tortilla chips.
Tips

If desired, fill warm tortillas or taco shells with beef mixture.
