You´ll appreciate this streamlined method for making a family-favorite side dish.

Ingredients

4
small sweet potatoes or yams, peeled, cut into 3/4- inch cubes (about 4 cups)*
1/4
cup real maple syrup or Hungry Jack® Microwave Ready Regular Syrup
1/2
teaspoon cinnamon
2
tablespoons finely chopped walnuts

Directions

  • 1 In large saucepan, bring 1 quart (4 cups) water to a boil. Add sweet potatoes; return to a boil. Cook over medium heat for 8 to 12 minutes or until tender. Drain well. Return sweet potatoes to saucepan or place in serving bowl.
  • 2 Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine syrup and cinnamon; mix well. Add to sweet potatoes; toss gently to coat. Just before serving, sprinkle with walnuts.
Tips

* If desired, use 2 cups each of sweet potatoes and yams for color contrast.
