Every Italian province has its sea coast, so fish is one of the country´s most important ingredients. Despite the abundance of fresh fish, canned tuna is a popular ingredient in Mediterranean cuisine.

Ingredients

cup light mayonnaise

teaspoon dried oregano leaves

tablespoon red wine vinegar

(9-oz.) cans water-packed tuna, drained, flaked

tablespoons sliced ripe or green olives
2
tablespoons finely chopped red bell pepper
2
tablespoons sliced green onions
4
lettuce leaves
4
(6 to 7-inch) French rolls, cut in half lengthwise

Directions

  • 1 In medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, oregano and vinegar; blend well. Add tuna, olives, bell pepper and onions; stir gently to mix well.
  • 2 Place lettuce on bottom halves of rolls; top with tuna mixture. Cover with top halves of rolls.
