More About This Recipe

  • I’ve spent a lot of time in the cereal aisle. Probably a little too much time. I just love looking at all the yummy options! I’ve had days where I’ve had cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In fact, I basically lived on cereal in college. So you can imagine my excitement when I spotted THIS idea on Pillsbury.com. Cereal cake? Yes please! Going with my theory that everything is better when it’s miniature, I decided to make mini cereal cakes. If I do say so myself, these turned out über-cute! After agonizing over the many cereal options, I went with three classics: Honey Cheerios, Lucky Charms and Trix. Don’t be fooled - they are ALL magically delicious! If you want to make true mini cakes, you’ll need to purchase a mini multi-tier cake pan. It’s so cute I can’t stand it!Be sure to spray the inside of the cake pan liberally with vegetable oil or else you’ll get yourself into a sticky situation. Literally. Then you have adorable mini cereal cakes that you can decorate to your heart’s content. I used miniature flags, Betty Crocker frosting, edible glitter and pearl sprinkles. Swirl away and prepare to impress your party guests with these yummy treats! They would be perfect for a kids party or on a brunch table – it is cereal after all! Or just have yourself a cereal party – I basically do it once a week! Happy Cereal Party-ing!
