Mint and cilantro marry to create a classic Indian chutney. Relish it!

Ingredients

cup chopped fresh cilantro

medium tomato, chopped (3/4 cup)

cup chopped fresh mint leaves

medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)

cup water

cup lime juice, (2 medium limes)

teaspoon salt

medium garlic cloves

to 2 fresh Thai, serrano or cayenne chilies

Directions

  • 1 Place all ingredients in blender. Cover and blend on medium speed until smooth.
  • 2 Tightly cover and store in refrigerator up to 10 days.
Tips  

Chutneys are a condiment that are sometimes fruit based and sweet and sometimes spicy and sharp. They are meant to be eaten in small bites to enhance the flavors of a milder dish.

This chutney is found served in major cities in the north and northwest areas of India.
