No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

These are an easy and really quick treat I used to make with my mom. Once cooled, they're nice and portable and make a great party snack. Make sure not to let the mixture boil for longer than one min.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Steps

    Add the first four ingredients into a four-quart sauce pan.
  • 2
    Bring to a rolling boil and then watch closely and let it boil for only one minute.
  • 3
    Remove from heat. Stir in the next three ingredients.
  • 4
    Carefully drop by heaping tablespoons onto a baking sheet covered in wax or parchment paper. The mixture is hot, so be careful.

    Let the cookies cool until they set.
