    Ingredients

    • 2 sticks or 1 cup softened butter
    • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 3 1/2 cups flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 10 oz bag chocolate chips
    • 1 package Oreo cookies

    Directions

    1. 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. 2Cream butter and sugars together with a mixer until well combined.Beat in eggs and vanilla
    3. 3In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.
    4. 4Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo cookie, take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo cookie. Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is enclosed with dough.
    5. 5Place onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet,I'll admit these cookies will expand pretty big so try not to put them too close together, and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

Hi @Anonymous! The recipe should work with an already made dough. You may have to vary the bake temperature and cooktime, however, based on the package instructions.

Hi @Anonymous! All-Purpose Flour and Self-Rising Flour are not one in the same. To turn regular (all-purpose) flour into 1 c. self-rising, combine 1 c. all-purpose, 1 tsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt.

I made these cookies for my dying puppy and she loved them. I used toothpaste instead of the creamed butter and it made her teeth very shiny. Sadly the next day she died of chocolate poisoning. We loved her very much. Now these cookies serve as a memory of our dead dog. I hate oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies now. EW

Hello fellow bakers and non bakers!! I cooked these delicious cookies just then and there are definitely some things that I would like to share with you. I came across this website and knew it was just something I had to try. I am going through some financial issues at the moment and although i was not able to pay for my train ticket(to buy the oreos a crucial ingredient hehe) the results definitely put a smile on my families faces. Baking is the only thing that truly makes me happy and really the only thing that i excel at. Everyone of my neighbours always comes over for my famous baking and this cookie is no exception. I am in the middle of a heat wave so it was definitely a messy experience and i felt that my cookies had already baked before even going in the oven because of my hot hands. Also make sure you check your oven before you use it as I may have caused a small fire but its okay now. Happy baking... and check the oven ;)

to anonyous who said they wanted to make them with store bought dough because they were on a budget, store bought dough is significantly more expensive per cookie than homemade dough. It's worth buying all the ingredients up front and holding on to the left overs for future baking projects.

350 celsious would be significantly warmer than your oven will go. I can't do the exact math in my head, but I'm thinking around 6 to 700 degrees fagrenheit.

I made these today for the first time. It was relatively easy just took some time. I made them on a cookie sheet and also in a muffin pan like a cupcake. Both ways worked out for me. But cooking these in a muffin pan did take longer to cook all the way through. I baked these in the muffin pan for about 15 to 20 minutes at 350. I kept checking them so they wouldn't burn. Overall I am please with this recipe.

Hi! We don’t recommend using a toaster oven; the cookies expand in the oven so they need to be evenly spaced on a cookie sheet with plenty of room in between.

To the poster anonymous who asked how to get the oreos inside. You have ball up the dough and then split it in half. Put the oreo in between the two balls of dough. Then squish it together. And push the dough around the edges of the oreo.

I was so excited when I saw this recipe on Tue that I had to make them today, Sat. I’m no baker. I’m one of those people who loves to read recipes and reviews but I’m scared to try anything, even though I have a fabulous KitchenAid mixer. So tonight I had six people over, and being the Oreo’s 100th Anniversary Week, I had to make these. Here are a few hints for the non-bakers. The recipe is easy to follow. However, with the first few, I kind of moved them around my hands like someone making meatballs would. That ended up with a lot of broken Oreos within the choc chip cookie batter, although no one would probably know the difference. But I did learn that working with your fingers vs. the palms of your hands DEFINITELY fixes that problem. The other thing is you really can’t bury more than six Oreos into the batter before it’s time to put the batter into the fridge for a good thirty minutes. It just gets WAY too soft/warm/melty. So now you’ve made six cookie/Oreo bombs, refrigerated the dough and made six more and put them on your fancy-schmancy Silpat, and baked them. My oven took a good 20 minutes. These, like I said, are bombs, not cookies. They’re huge. Everyone I made them for said they were DELICIOUS but tasted exactly as if I had baked chocolate chip cookies and put them on a plate with a side of Oreos. In other words, not worth the effort. Bake a cookie, take a bite, them take a bite of an Oreo and you get the same (albeit easy) thing. OH, PS…With this recipe I made 22 Oreo-stuffed cookies and put the rest of the batter in the freezer, which will easily make an additional dozen regular chocolate chip cookies. No one can eat more than two or three of these and it definitely makes more than the two dozen the recipe says.

I just made these and they are delicious! Just a few comments though - 2 sticks of butter is equal to 1 cup. Also, I have 3 different sizes of cookie scoops. The teaspoon scoop did work, but it took a bit to cover the whole cookie, the tablespoon scoop worked best to cover the cookie, however I was only able to get 18 cookies out of the batter instead of the whole oreo package (which was 30 cookies - I think).

I have made this recipe twice now. Once by following the recipe and the other by using pre-made cookie dough. I liked the taste of the cookies with the pre-made dough the best, but they were a lot messier to make, considering they expanded a lot in the oven and fell off the tray. However, this recipe (the original) is awesome! Everyone that tried them really liked them. Thank you so much for posting this recipe. Super easy to make. Btw the cookies are even yummier after they have aged a few days, gives the flavors a chance to blend.
