More About This Recipe

  • Break out the bread pan and let’s bake something amazing! This tender and moist Peanut Butter Banana Bread has that sweet familiar banana flavor, but it’s mingling with creamy peanut butter. With just two tablespoons of the childhood fave, it’s clearly invited to the party, but it doesn’t take center stage. Like most banana bread recipes, is a “quick bread” – which doesn’t refer so much to the time it takes to make but the simplicity of how it comes together. The bread batter is a one-bowl deal. Just mix the wet ingredients. Add the dry ingredients. Pour it into the baking pan and bake until it’s perfect. And yes, this really is perfect. The banana and peanut butter flavors play nice with each other. And then there is the special crunchy topping: peanut butter-flavored Cheerios™. These things add a whimsical look and tasty crunch to the bread. It’s not often that I get excited about a cereal. But when I heard about the new Peanut Butter Multigrain Cheerios, I thought they’d be awesome with this recipe. I was right! They are a big wow. Try this bread toasted with a little jam for breakfast. It’s amazing that way. Or heat some up and top with sliced bananas and your favorite ice cream for a fabulous banana shortcake kind of thing. Have fun!
