The Pink Lady is a classic cocktail that consists of gin and grenadine – the former gives this herbal concoction its signature hue.
The other ingredient is not so common in cocktails: A single egg white adds some froth and creates a silky smooth texture that really stands out. There have been many variations on this classic, and this version of the recipe calls for a hit of applejack to add another level of complexity.
The ingredients: Gin, applejack, grenadine, egg white (from a pasteurized egg), and lemon.
To get started, pour a half an ounce of gin and a half an ounce of applejack into a cocktail mixer.
Squeeze the juice from half a lemon into the mixer.
Add an ounce of grenadine to the mixer .
Add one egg white to the mixer.
Add ice to the mixer.
Close the mixer and shake strenuously. The longer you shake, the foamier the egg white will become. Pour into a martini glass.
Garnish with two brandied cherries, serve and enjoy!
