The ultimate hot cocoa recipe with delicious and quick powdered donuts.

Ingredients

DONUTS

1
can Pillsbury™ refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/4
cup powdered sugar
1/4
cup granulated sugar

COCOA

10
ounce bittersweet chocolate chips
2
quarts fat-free half and half
1
can sweetened condensed milk
2
teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  • 1 Combine half and half, sweetened condensed milk and chocolate in a large saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat until chocolate is melted, stirring occasionally. (You may also put everything in a slow cooker on the low setting for four hours). Add vanilla extract just before serving.
  • 2 Place Pillsbury™ biscuits on a flat surface. Using a small circular cutter or an empty water bottle, cut out centers from biscuits.
  • 3 Fill a large sauté pan with oil 1 inch deep. Fry biscuits (and centers!) in oil over medium-high heat until done, turning once, about 20 seconds each side.
  • 4 In a pie pan, combine powdered and granulated sugars. Roll cooked donuts in sugar mixture.
  • 5 To serve, pour cocoa into cups. Pace a spoon in each cup and a donut over each spoon handle.
