@TBSPAna, so 3rd try, I used white chocolate chips and still the gel colors. That was a success!! It came out beautifully!!! So we did exactly the same thing for batch #4. Everyone LOVED it. She sold out and received so many compliments. I'm not sure if it was the exact consistency of "fudge", but it worked, it tasted delicious and looked beautiful! We're going to try for July 4th with red, white and blue, now that we got it down lol. Thanks!

It may be the use of gel food coloring, @LucyK, so I would go with liquid for time #3. Melting chocolate can be very tricky, too, so be sure not to over microwave and to follow instructions exactly. For even more of a fix, try refrigerating the fudge for well over 12 hours to see if that helps it to harden. Let me know how it goes!

I just made this recipe for the second time it looks beautiful, BUT it's a sticky mess :( I cannot slice it. It sticks to the knife and is extremely soft. I followed exact directions. Same thing happened last time when I used white chips. This time I used baking squares. Could it be that I used gel food coloring? That's the only thing I can think of. I'm so disappointed because my daughter is supposed to sell it next week at a Treps Flea Market and I don't know how to fix it! We have to try to make another batch. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I had a thought. haha. I am gonna make the fudge using a star shaped "ice tray" that I found at wal mart. I am going to make them red, white and blue. I think that will look good for our 4th of July cookout. I know the 4th was yesterday, but we are going to cookout and celebrate this weekend. Just a thought...

Half the stuff people "share" or call their own, was fround from somewhere else on the internet. I just love these people who have websites with things like graphics and they are SELLING them! Then they have the nerve to tell you how you can and cannot use them, even after you BUY them! LOL The graphics etc., came from somewhere else and wasn't theirs to BEGIN with! Unless you came up with the idea in a dream, and it isn't already out there, and you build that dream from scratch and pay to copyright it....it's not yours and you have no right to ask for something to get it.

What a bunch of better-than-thous! If someone doesn't want to sign up, it's their perogative and it's also their freedom to be able to SAY so! If you keep signing up and "liking" everything on the interenet, you WILL find yourself with a lot of spam mail! Those of you that don't, are the exception, not the rule. I also find it QUITE IRRITATING to have to "like" someone's page to view it. If you want to share the information, then SHARE it without asking for something in return. Otherwise, keep the **** to yourself. Nobody NEEDS it, and there are TONS of recipes out there for FREE. If you want a good sweetened condensed milk fudge recipe? Go to the EAGLE BRAND website. http://www.eaglebrand.com They don't ask for anything. And anyone with half a brain can figure out how to seperate the fudge product into different bowls for different colors. sheeesh!

making this fudge for a rainbow themed baby shower I love how the colours are muted down a bit by the white choc can't wait to see how it looks with the theme.....Love the website don't care that I had to join. I don't think that everything is a conspiracy to spam me and I know how to use my email so even if I do get spam it goes to my spam folder what a revelation, why post how you don't want to sign up nobody cares, it just takes up room on the thread for people who actually want to share tips etc. My tip is to use plastic wrap instead of foil it peels off the fudge without breaking easy as.

Yeah, I don't want to 'take the ten seconds' to join up. If a place is good, its recipes should be quality and a person will -want- to join because they had a good experience. I don't want to be manipulated to join a website by acting like it's a big secret you can't have unless you hand them all your demographic information. It's just a fudge recipe. I can go to allrecipes.com or somewhere where maybe it's about just sharing recipes, rather than trying to force people to join some kind of ranks just to find out about the wonders of baking chocolate and condensed milk and microwaves.

This was a simple and fun recipe! It was a hit with my friends. I actually made it just red, green, and white (no color) for a Christmas party. Though I would recommend measuring out the condensed milk to make sure you get the same amount in each layer. I tried to eyeball it and ended up with a little inconsistency in the firmness between the layers.
