    Ingredients

    • 1 17.5 oz bag Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix, mixed according to package directions
    • Liquid food coloring, as desired
    • Rainbow sprinkles, if desired

    Directions

    1. 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. 2For rainbow pinwheels, divide dough evenly into five bowls, and color each with a different color liquid food coloring. (We used McCormick Neon shades in pink, green, blue and purple, as well as the yellow from the standard pack).
    3. 3Roll each color dough into 14 grape-sized balls.
    4. 4Combine a ball of each color and quickly roll into a larger ball. It will look like a little beachball.
    5. 5Then roll that ball between your hands and the counter or cutting board until you have a cylinder about 6 inches long.
    6. 6Starting from one end of the cylinder, roll the dough into a coil, twisting the cylinder as you go.
    7. 7Roll edges of the cookie in sprinkles.
    8. 8Repeat with remaining cookies.
    9. 9Bake the cookies for 10 to 11 minutes, or until done (fully done middle with the barest touch of golden brown on the edges).

    I think the whole rainbow thing is cool for like cookies and some cakes but I have seen some where it was like Gross .

    I would not consider myself the greatest cook on earth, but I have to tell you that I've become addicted to this website! I made these cookies this morning and I had a blast doing it. The only problem I found (if you could call it that) is the same thing people have said on here. The dough does get a little sticky. But the solution was to put them in the fridge, get them cold, and then it's much easier to work with. Definitely have to get the twist down because the twists definitely makes the cookie. They look AWESOME! And tomorrow I'm taking them to a luau! I am thrilled. There is hope for me in the world of cooking!!! :)

    mine didnt end up looking as bright as yours they were more of a pastel look but i love em.

    I made these as a treat for my kids and they came out so much better than I expected. They were beautiful and totally perfect. Everyone LOVED them. Perfect!
