Red Beans and Rice

This Southern classic in the crock pot tastes just like you have been slaving away over a bubbling cauldron all day! Made with smoked turkey sausage for a lighter version.

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound dry kidney beans, rinsed and sorted
    • 6 cups water
    • 5 regular bouillon cubes
    • 1/2 pound smoked Turkey sausage
    • 1 medium onion, diced
    • 5 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 teaspoons Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning
    • 3/4 teaspoon cumin
    • 3/4 teaspoon corriander
    • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
    • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 4 cups cooked rice

    Directions

    1. 1Combine all ingredients in the crock pot.
    2. 2Cook on HIGH for 6 hours.
