Gooey browned butter-marshmallow sauce, crunchy cereal and sliced almonds, creamy salted chocolate on top. These chewy Cheerios™ dessert bars are perfection x 10.

Ingredients

cups butter, divided
1/2
cup brown sugar

ounces marshmallows
1
teaspoon vanilla
1
cup sliced almonds
3 1/2
cups Cheerios™ cereal
1 1/2
cups semisweet chocolate chips
1
tablespoon sea salt

Directions

  • 1 In a large saucepan, cook 3/4 cup butter over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until boiling. Whisk in brown sugar and cook just until mixture begins to brown. Reduce heat to medium-low, add marshmallows and stir just until marshmallows are mostly melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, almonds and Cheerios™. Press into an 9 x 11” nonstick baking pan.
  • 2 In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and remaining 1/2 cup butter together. Stir until smooth and spread atop Cheerios™ layer. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  • 3 Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
