A crunchy savory pecan snack recipe that's ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

2
cups pecan halves
2
medium green onions, chopped (2 tablespoons)
2
tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1
tablespoon soy sauce
1/4
teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 300º. Mix all ingredients. Spread pecans in single layer in ungreased jelly roll pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch.
  • 2 Bake uncovered about 10 minutes or until pecans are toasted. Serve warm, or cool completely. Store in airtight container at room temperature up to 3 weeks.
Tips

Keep these delicious snacking nuts on hand as extra nibbles for parties. Walnut halves or peanuts can be used instead of the pecans.

For Chinese-Spiced Pecans, omit the ground red pepper and stir in 2 teaspoons five-spice powder and 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger.

For Tex-Mex Pecans, omit soy sauce and ground red pepper and stir in 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 2 teaspoons chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt and 1/4 teaspoon onion powder.
