Ingredients

cups pecan halves
2
medium green onions, finely chopped (2 tablespoons)
2
tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1
tablespoon soy sauce
1/4
teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 300°F. In medium bowl, mix all ingredients. Spread pecans in single layer in ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan.
  • 2 Bake uncovered about 10 minutes, stirring once, until pecans are toasted. Serve warm or cool. Store tightly covered at room temperature up to 3 weeks.
Tips  

Expert Tips

For Chinese-Spiced Pecans, omit the ground red pepper and stir in 2 teaspoons five-spice powder and 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger.

For Tex-Mex Pecans, omit soy sauce and ground red pepper and stir in 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 2 teaspoons chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt and 1/4 teaspoon onion powder.
