Flossie Johnson’s family never tires from enjoying Savory Sausage and Egg Bake. It’s a recipe from the Betty Crocker Racing Family collection.

Ingredients

1
pound bulk pork sausage, cooked and drained
1 1/2
cups sliced fresh mushrooms (4 ounces)
1/2
cup sliced green onion
2
medium tomatoes, chopped (1 1/2 cups)
2
cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
1 1/4
cups Original Bisquick™ mix
1
cup milk
1
teaspoon salt
1/2
teaspoon pepper
1/2
teaspoon dried oregano leaves
12
eggs

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease rectangular baking dish, 13x9x2 inches. Layer sausage, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and cheese in baking dish.
  • 2 Beat remaining ingredients with wire whisk or fork; pour over cheese in baking dish.
  • 3 Bake uncovered 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and set.
Tips

Flossie's Recipe Tips:

  • You can mix and match some of the ingredients. Try 1 pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbed, instead of the sausage, and Cheddar cheese instead of the mozzarella.
  • There's no harm in splashing in a bit of hot sauce for those who like their eggs with a bit of kick!
  • Since this dish is packed full of almost everything you'll need for the meal, just serve it with sliced peaches and hot biscuits.
