Growing up, tacos were a staple in my household.
They were just something that everyone liked, and they were easy and quick. So naturally, my dad (who did the cooking... mom handled dessert) relied on his simple beef taco recipe A LOT.
Us kids didn’t mind. I mean, who doesn’t love a good taco? As I have gotten older, however, I have learned there are MANY other tacos then just the beef taco. Fish tacos, pulled pork tacos, carne asada tacos.... and all the toppings! Fruit salsa, guacamole, CHEESE.
YUM. Gimme all the tacos please!
Today I’m sharing my favorite go-to shredded chicken taco. Just like my dad’s beef tacos, these shredded chicken tacos are now a staple. They’re quick, easy and a little healthier than their beefy friend. These tacos need just a few ingredients and then you can go all out with your toppings—or just be super simple and add cheese.
Totally your call!
Okay, so grab your ingredients.
Start out by searing the chicken on the stove. Then add in a little beer and some Old El Paso™ taco seasoning.
Add a can of Old El Paso™ Green Chilies and then cover your pan and continue cooking the chicken for about 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and shreddable.
After 20 minutes, your chicken should shred easily and look like this.
Now grab your ingredients needed to assemble your tacos…
And start putting together the best tacos ever! I put cheese, jalapenos and fruit salsa on mine.
What do you put on your tacos?
