Simple Brie en Croute

Lovely and simple Brie en Croute recipe. Served well with french bread, crackers, apples, pears, and spreads like cranberry jam or apple butter.

can (8 oz.) crescent dinner rolls - [any brand will do]
1
round (8 oz.) Brie cheese
1
large egg
honey
thyme

Directions

  • 1 Pre-heat oven to 350°F
  • 2 Roll out your dinner roll dough and split into two sections. Pat dough and smooth out any seaming until you have two squares.
  • 3 Place your first square on an un-greased cookie sheet. Then place your brie on top of that centered.
  • 4 Place your remaining square over the brie, like a sandwich. Press the dough evenly around the cheese; folding the bottom edges over top edges. Gently stretch dough evenly around, making sure it is completely sealed.
  • 5 Beat your one large egg and then brush it generously over the top of your uncooked pastry.
  • 6 Finally drizzle some honey over top accompanied with a light sprinkling of thyme.
  • 7 Bake 20-25 minutes or until pastry is golden-brown. Cool for 10 minutes and serve very warm.
