    Ingredients

    • 2 jars marinara sauce
    • 1 pound 93% lean ground beef
    • 1 box dry / no-boil lasagna noodles
    • 8 oz mozzerella cheese, shredded
    • 1 cup fat-free cottage cheese
    • 1 large egg
    • 4 table spoons parmesan cheese, shredded
    • 8 oz fat-free cream cheese
    • 1/3 cup fresh basil

    Directions

    1. 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees
    2. 2Cook the meat in a pan on medium heat until brown (may need to use a little bit of olive oil), drain, and set aside. In a small bowl mix together the cottage cheese, egg, and 2 table spoons parmesan and set aside.
    3. 3Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with non-stick spray and coat the bottom with 1 cup of marinara sauce. The box of noodles I buy has the layering directions on the side, and I usually just follow that:
    4. 4Layer 1: 4 noodles, 1/3 Cottage cheese mixture, 1/3 of cream cheese, handful of mozzarella, 1/2 the meat, 1 cup sauce
    5. 5Layer 2: 4 noodles, 1/3 Cottage cheese mixture, 1/3 of cream cheese, 1 cup sauce, 1/3 of basil
    6. 6Layer 3: 4 noodles, 1/3 Cottage cheese mixture, 1/3 of cream cheese, handful of mozzarella, 1/2 the meat, 1 cup sauce, 1/3 of basil
    7. 7Layer 4: 4 noodles, Rest of the sauce, 1/3 of basil, Rest of the mozzarella and 2 tblsp parmesan cheese
    8. 8Bake, covered with foil for 50-60 minutes. Then, uncover and cook for another 5 minutes until the cheese is nice and bubbly. Remove from the oven and let it sit for 15 minutes (you'll be glad you did when your serving comes out nice and easy!).

My husband has been eating the leftovers all week! Most dishes only get a one-night rerun. Must be a keeper...the recipe (jk!)
