Slanted Rainbow Jello Shots

These jello shots are tipsy for more than one reason.

Ingredients

1
package (3oz.) Jell-O™ cherry
1
package (3oz.) Jell-O™ orange
1
package (3oz.) Jell-O™ lemon
1
package (3oz.) Jell-O™ lime
1
package (3oz.) Jell-O™ berry blue
3 3/4
cups vodka (can use plain, citrus or vanilla)
Whipped cream
Rainbow sprinkles

Special equipment

Tall, clear plastic shot glasses (available at most party stores)

Directions

  • 1 In five separate bowls or heat-resistant cups, add 1 cup boiling water to each packet of gelatin. Stir until gelatin dissolves and stir in 3/4 cup vodka to each mixture/color.
  • 2 Place shot glasses inside openings of muffin pan and tilt on the edges. Fill the glasses 1/5 of the way with either red or blue gelatin, depending on which way you want your rainbow to go. Or, you can do a mixture of both. On an average, the shot glass should equal out to about 2 teaspoons of each of the five colors/flavors of gelatin.
  • 3 Place in refrigerator and allow to set for about 20-30 minutes. Repeat with the next color in the rainbow and place back in refrigerator for another 20-30 minutes. Repeat until you have used all five colors. Refrigerate another additional 3 hours or overnight.
  • 4 When ready to serve, top with a dollop of whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles (optional).

Rainbow jelly shots ... from a whole new angle!

As prepared by E is for Eat,

Boozy and colorful, these slanted rainbow jelly shots are a fun party treat.

These colorful jelly shots are tipsy. In more ways than one.

And they’re fun. Like follow-the-yellow-brick-road, pot-of-gold-at-the-end-of-the-rainbow fun!

All you need is some gelatin, vodka and a little patience.

Slanted Rainbow Jelly Shots

First, get packets of gelatin, one in each color of the rainbow. Then in 5 separate bowls or heat-resistant cups, add 1 cup boiling water to each packet of gelatin. Stir until gelatin dissolves and stir in 3/4 cup vodka to each mixture/color.

Then place shot glasses inside openings of a muffin pan and tilt on the edges. Fill the glasses 1/5 of the way with either red or blue gelatin, depending on which way you want your rainbow to go (or a mixture of both).

Slanted Rainbow Jelly Shots

My shot glasses equaled out to about 2 teaspoons of each of the five colors/flavors of gelatin. Even though it takes a bit longer, I measured it out to achieve more even layers.

Place in fridge and allow to set for about 20-30 minutes. Repeat with the next color in the rainbow and place back in fridge for another 20-30 minutes. Repeat until you have used all 5 colors. When you get to the final layer, your shot can sit upright. Refrigerate another additional 3 hours or overnight.

You can serve the jelly shots as they are without any garnish.

Tips

To make fewer shots, only use half a package of each gelatin box and half the amount of recommended vodka.
