    Ingredients

    • 1 (18.25 ounce) Betty Crocker SuperMoist Chocolate Fudge cake mix
    • 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
    • 4 whole eggs
    • 1 cup water
    • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 cups sour cream
    • 1 cup mik chocolate chips

    Directions

    1. 1Spray a 4 quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
    2. 2In a large bowl, add the cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, oil, and sour cream and beat until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips.
    3. 3Pour mixture into the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until cake is set. Every slow cooker cooks at a different speed so make sure to check it at 4 hours. The cake will still be moist but not soggy. Remove pot from slow cooker so cake does not continue cooking.
    4. 4Serve warm with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Do you cover the crock pot while cooking this or not?

Oh my gosh! This cake came out exquisitely. I ended up cooking it for about 4 and a half hours and it was decadent. So chocolaty and moist that I'm surprised it's lasted this long, even though I just made it yesterday. :)

I made this with cook and serve instead of instant pudding, how bad of a mistake is this?

@Old Lady Cook, you can put it into a cold crock pot. Good luck!

Do you need to preheat the crockpot or does batter go into a cold pot?

We just had this for dinner and loved it. Very rich and moist. I cooked mine for 4 hours 15 minutes, and it turned out perfectly. Excellent. Will be a lot of fun for company.
