    Make this recipe the day ahead; cover and refrigerate. Then, reheat it in the microwave or on the stove-top just before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1  (3-lb) fresh beef brisket (not corned beef)
  • 1  package (1 oz) onion recipe and dip soup mix (from 2-oz box)
  • 1  can (10 1/2 oz) condensed beef broth
  • 8  mini baguettes or sandwich buns

Directions

  1. 1Spray 3- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place beef in cooker. In small bowl, mix dry soup mix and broth; pour over beef.
  2. 2Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
  3. 3Skim fat from liquid in cooker. Remove beef from cooker; place on cutting board. Cut beef across grain into thin slices or shred beef.
  4. 4To serve, cut each baguette in half horizontally. Fill baguettes with beef; cut crosswise in half. Serve with broth for dipping. Beef mixture will hold on Low heat setting up to 2 hours; stir occasionally.

I hve done this but I always add mushrooms. I use English steaks, instead of brisket. We only get brisket ordered in a couple of times a year

Hi! This recipe calls for the crock pot to be set to the low heat setting for 8-10 hours. The low heat setting is typically around 180 degrees F.
