Because the only thing better than homemade mac and cheese is homemade SLOW-COOKER mac and cheese that basically makes itself! This is our ultimate recipe, packed with a full pound of cheese for the creamy, dreamy sauce everyone craves. Ground mustard and red pepper add just enough flavor for the grown-ups while still keeping the dish kid-friendly.

Ingredients

cups shredded Italian cheese blend (8 oz)

cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz)

eggs, slightly beaten

can (12 oz) evaporated milk
1 1/2
cups milk

teaspoon salt
3/4
teaspoon ground mustard
1/4
teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
1/2
teaspoon black pepper

cups uncooked small pasta shells (8 oz)

Directions

  • 1 Spray 3 1/2-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In medium bowl, mix Italian cheese and Cheddar cheese; set aside.
  • 2 In large bowl, stir together eggs, evaporated milk, milk, salt, mustard, red pepper and black pepper with whisk. Stir in uncooked pasta and 3 cups of the cheese mixture. Pour mixture into slow cooker; sprinkle with 3/4 cup cheese mixture. (Refrigerate remaining 1/4 cup cheese mixture until serving time.)
  • 3 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 hours. Sprinkle evenly with remaining cheese mixture.
