    Ingredients

    • 4 skinless boneless chicken breasts
    • 1 (0.6 ounce) package dry zesty Italian dressing
    • 1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
    • 1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese, softened
    • (optional) milk
    • pasta or rice

    Directions

    1. 1Place the chicken in a slow cooker and sprinkle the Italian dressing over it.
    2. 2Combine cream cheese and cream of chicken soup in a small pot over low heat and pour over chicken.
    3. 3Cook on low for 4 hours or until chicken is done. Once the chicken is done you can take it out and shred it or cube it depending on your preference. Return chicken to slow cooker.
    4. 4Add milk to the sauce to get it to your preferred consistency. Serve over cooked pasta or rice.

The only thing I changed with this is I put a dash of pampered chef italian seasoning on top of the mixture in the crock pot. We put it over whole wheat elbow macaroni. Yum! Chicken was so tender!

My mom made something similar to this growing up and it's wonderful! I can't have anything that's precanned or processed so she had to make a cream base soup using a roux and nonfat milk. it's still very creamy and much healthier! Always a bit hit and so easy!

This is a quick and hassle free dinner. It is hearty and the low-fat option tastes wonderful. I used fat-free soup and 1/3 less fat for the cream cheese.
