    Ingredients

    • 2 3 oz boxes grape flavored gelatin dessert
    • 1 3 oz box berry blue flavored gelatin dessert
    • 4 cups water, divided
    • 9 tbsp coconut milk, divided (or vanilla yogurt)
    • 3 1/2 cups coconut rum, divided
    • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 envelope plain gelatin
    • neon pink liquid food coloring
    • edible pearl dust, for birthday sparkle, if desired
    • 32 2 oz shot glasses

    Directions

    1. 1Heat the water to boiling.
    2. 2Pour 2 cups of boiling water in a heat safe bowl. Add the grape gelatin. Whisk until gelatin is fully dissolved (about 2 minutes). Stir in 2 cups of rum. Divide the mixture equally in two bowls. To one, add 6 tbsp of the coconut milk. Stir well. Add a little of the pearl dust to the transparent gelatin, if desired. Set both bowls aside.
    3. 3Pour 1 cup of boiling water in a heat safe bowl. Add the blue gelatin. Whisk until gelatin is fully dissolved (about 2 minutes). Stir in 1 cup of rum. Divide the mixture equally in two bowls. To one, add 3 tbsp of the coconut milk. Stir well. Add a little of the pearl dust to the transparent gelatin, if desired. Set both bowls aside.
    4. 4Pour 1 cup of boiling water into a heat safe bowl. Add the gelatin and stir until dissolved (about 5 minutes - microwave for a few seconds if difficulty dissolving). Add the sweetened condensed milk and a few drops of the pink food coloring. Stir well. Stir in the rum. Set bowl aside.
    5. 5Begin layering the gelatin, beginning with the pink, by pouring 1 1/2 teaspoons into each shot glass. Place shot glasses in the refrigerator until layer is set, 20 minutes or so for the first layers. Setting time will decrease as more layers are added to the glasses.
    6. 6Repeat step 5, layering with the purple, purple opaque, blue, blue opaque, purple, purple opaque, and finally another pink layer.

Spray the shot glass with cooking spray before you put anything into it.. This will make the shot come out

I think a easy way to get them out of them out of the shot glass is to poke the top with a fancy tooth pick type thing and tell your guest to use that to unstick it from the shot glass.

To get them out of the shot glasses with minimal issue, allow them to sit in a luke warm tub of water just prior to serving ( do not submerge, just fill tub so water rises about 3/4 of the height of the shot glass) ..this should loosen them up from the side of the glass...

Check out your local craft store. They usually have a baking supply aisle.

Our set time did not go down very much, but I think it may be because of the wider top of some of our shot glasses. We used six 3 oz. glasses making the layers 2 tsp, and one glass 3 tsp per layer they took about the same time to set. We also took a Christmas spin on this. =)

They look great but my concern is how do you get them out of the shot glass? I made pudding shots one year and they were really hard to get out! Jello shots you can usually just slurp and suck them out but these look like they might be a little more tricky! hahaha
