Soy sauce and red pepper flakes dial it up for green beans with pizzazz!

Ingredients

Beans

bag (22 oz) frozen whole green beans

Sauce

1/2
cup orange juice
1 1/4
teaspoons cornstarch
2
tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
1/8
to 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1
small clove garlic, finely chopped

Directions

  • 1 Cook green beans as directed on bag. Drain; place in serving bowl.
  • 2 Meanwhile, in 1-quart saucepan, mix sauce ingredients until well blended. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear.
  • 3 Stir sauce into cooked green beans to coat.
Tips  

Green beans provide fiber and vitamin A. These two nutrients are important for good health.

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder can be substituted for the 1 small clove.
