Ingredients

  • 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon sugar, for rimming glass
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce elderflower liqueur (like St. Germain™)
  • 1 ounce cranberry juice

Steps

  • 1
Zest 1/2 of the lime into a small bowl and combine with rimming sugar, rubbing the sugar and zest together with your fingers until fragrant. Sprinkle onto a small plate. Cut the lime into wedges, then use one to wet the edge of the serving glass. Gently tap the edge of the glass into the sugar, coating well. Set aside.
  • 2
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add vodka, elderflower liqueur, cranberry juice, and 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice. Shake vigorously to combine and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

More About This Recipe

  • It’s time for a little holiday spirit, St. Germain™ Cranberry Cocktail style! Elderflower liqueur matches perfectly with lime and cranberry for a light and floral cocktail. If you’ve never tasted St. Germain™, it’s an elderflower liqueur that adds an airiness and floral quality to cocktails. It’s delicate. It’s French. It makes cocktails feel fancy and classy. So this year put these cocktails on the party drink menu. They’re festive, refreshing – and even match Rudolph's ruby red nose. The base of the drink is a mix of cranberry juice and fresh lime juice. Choose whatever cranberry juice you like (it can even be diet), but the lime juice must be fresh. This is no place for the prebottled stuff! Next, the booze: Lovely St. Germain™ and vodka, the old reliable. Choose a clean-tasting vodka to ensure that the flavor of the St. Germain™ shines. Fresh lime zest mixed with the rimming sugar gives these pretties an extra festive touch. At the holidays, it’s all about sparkle, and the cocktails shouldn’t miss the fun! Shake, pour, and sip. Whatever your choice of holiday attire, these classy cocktails are sure to match. The recipe is written for one cocktail, but can easily be adapted to large quantities. If desired, stir together the desired number of drinks in a pitcher, then pour and shake individually with ice as you serve.
