Bake this sweet banana and chocolate cake made using Bisquick® mix and Gold Medal® flour layered with cinnamon, sugar and flour mixture - perfect dessert for a party.

Ingredients

1 1/2
cups Original Bisquick™ mix
1/2
cup Gold Medal™ whole wheat flour
1/2
cup packed brown sugar
2
ripe medium bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
1/2
cup milk
1
teaspoon vanilla
1/2
cup semisweet chocolate chips

Streusel Topping

1/4
cup packed brown sugar
1/4
cup Gold Medal™ whole wheat flour
1/4
teaspoon ground cinnamon
2
tablespoons cold butter or margarine

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 425°F. Grease bottom and sides of 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray.
  • 2 In large bowl, stir Bisquick mix, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, the bananas, milk and vanilla. Gently fold in chocolate chips. Pour into pan.
  • 3 In medium bowl, mix 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup flour and the cinnamon. Cut in butter, using pastry blender (or pulling 2 table knives through ingredients in opposite directions), until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle topping evenly over batter in pan.
  • 4 Bake 17 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on cooling rack.
Tips

For a more rustic version, used chocolate chunks or chopped chocolate bars instead of chips.

Cut into smaller squares for party-size bites.
