Summer Garden Sandwich

A gourmet take on the BLT, this sandwich is divine and brimming with the flavors of lemon, basil, heirloom tomatoes, snappy cucumbers and bacon.

Ingredients

can (11 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crusty French loaf
1/4
cup mayonnaise
1
lemon, juiced and zested
3
ounces gouda cheese
3
tablespoons pesto
1
English cucumber, sliced
2
heirloom tomatoes, slices
4
strips thick-cut bacon, cooked until crispy

Directions

  • 1 Bake bread according to package directions. Allow to cool slightly before slicing in half lengthwise.
  • 2 In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Set aside.
  • 3 Cover a microwave safe plate with parchment paper. Place your cheese and pesto on top of the parchment. Microwave until melty.
  • 4 Working quickly, use a knife to spread the melted cheese and pesto mixture on one side of your french bread..
  • 5 Spread mayonnaise on the other side of your french bread.
  • 6 Top with tomatoes, cucumbers, and bacon. Serve imediately and enjoy.

You'll find the recipe below, but here's how you make up one of these incredible, fresh meals.

Step 1


Toss a bit of Gouda cheese and pesto on a plastic plate. Microwave until melty. Slap that stuff on top of a fresh loaf of Pillsbury French bread. Scoop a bunch of lemon-kissed mayonnaise onto the other side of the bread.
