Want a lighter burger without sacrificing on taste? These flavorful burgers will fill the bill.

Ingredients

pounds extra-lean ground beef
1
envelope about 1 1/2 ounces onion soup mix
1
cup reduced-fat sour cream
1/2
cup Progresso™ dry bread crumbs (any flavor)
1/8
teaspoon pepper

Directions

  • 1 Set oven control to broil. Place patties on rack in broiler pan.
  • 2 Mix all ingredients. Shape mixture into 8 patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
  • 3 Broil with tops 4 to 6 inches from heat 10 to 15 minutes, turning once, until no longer pink in center and juice is clear.
  • 4 To Grill: Heat coals or gas grill. Grill patties uncovered 4 to 6 inches from medium coals 10 to 15 minutes, turning once, until no longer pink in center and juice is clear.
Tips  

Top off your lighter burgers with lettuce and tomato. If you’re seriously counting calories, try a reduced-calorie bread and go light on the condiments.

Seasoned bread crumbs also work in this recipe.
