Orange juice and sweet-and-sour sauce add tangy personality to a cut of smoked ham.

Ingredients

1/4
cup sweet-and-sour sauce
2
tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1
slice (about 1 lb) center-cut smoked ham
1
tablespoon chopped fresh chives, if desired

Directions

  • 1 In small bowl, mix sweet-and-sour sauce and juice concentrate; set aside.
  • 2 In 10- to 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook ham slice over medium heat 6 minutes, turning once.
  • 3 Spoon sauce mixture over ham. Cook 4 to 6 minutes longer, turning ham once or twice, until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle with chives.
Tips

Look for sweet-and-sour sauce in the Asian foods section of the grocery store. The color of this flavorful sauce varies from light to dark orange, depending on the brand of the sauce.
