Ingredients

  • 1  cup All Purpose or Unbleached or Self Rising Flour
  • 1/2  to 1 cup finely chopped nuts
  • 1/4  cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2  cup butter or margarine, softened
  • FILLING
  • 1  (8-oz.) pkg. Philadelphia Brand Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2  teaspoon McCormick/Schilling Almond Extract
  • 1  cup powdered sugar
  • 1  (21-oz.) can (2 cups) prepared cherry pie filling
  • 1  cup whipping cream, whipped and sweetened*

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. (Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.) In 13x9-inch pan, combine first four ingredients. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown; stir once while baking. Reserve 1/2 cup crumbs for top. Using a spoon, firmly press remaining warm crumb mixture into ungreased 9 or 10-inch pie plate. Chill crust. In medium bowl, blend first three Filling ingredients until smooth. Spread over crust. Fold pie filling into whipped cream. Spoon over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Chill 1 to 2 hours before serving. (Store in refrigerator).
