Add a five-star finish to these spicy snacks by topping with shredded lettuce, sliced ripe olives, chopped tomato and mild or hot chopped chiles.

Ingredients

12
paper baking cups
1
(8-oz.) can Pillsbury™ Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls
1/4
lb. lean ground beef
1
tablespoon taco seasoning mix (from 1.25-oz. pkg.)
1
tablespoon cream cheese
1
tablespoon water
1 1/2
oz. (1/3 cup) shredded Cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend
1/4
cup crushed tortilla chips
1/2
cup chunky-style salsa
1/3
cup sour cream
1
tablespoon chopped green onions

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Flatten paper baking cups; lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Separate dough into 4 rectangles. Firmly press perforations to seal. Press each to form 6x4-inch rectangle.
  • 2 Cut each rectangle into 3 smaller rectangles. With tip of sharp knife, cut small triangle from short sides of each rectangle. Place rectangle on sprayed paper baking cup. Place triangles on either side of rectangle. Press dough together to seal, forming 6-point star. Place each in ungreased muffin cup. Bake at 375°F. for 11 to 13 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 3 Meanwhile, brown ground beef in small skillet over medium-high heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain. Add taco seasoning mix, cream cheese and water; mix well. Cook and stir over low heat until thoroughly heated and cream cheese is melted.
  • 4 Remove crescent stars from oven. Fill each star with scant tablespoon beef mixture. Top each with cheese and tortilla chips. Cover with foil. Return to oven; bake an additional 4 to 6 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • 5 To serve, remove from baking cups. Top each with 1 teaspoon salsa, 1 teaspoon sour cream and green onions. Serve warm.
