    Ingredients

    • 2 Cups Granulated Sugar (Divided)
    • 1 Cup Salted Butter (Land-O-Lakes woks best with these)
    • 2  Eggs
    • 2 3/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
    • 3/4 Teaspoons Crisco Shortening
    • 3/4 Teaspoons Baking Soda
    • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
    • 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
    • 5 Different Food Coloring

    Directions

    1. 1Preheat oven to 325.
    2. 2In mixing bowl, beat 1 1/2 cup sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
    3. 3Blend in eggs, scrape down bowl.
    4. 4Add flour, shortening, baking soda and salt. Blend well.
    5. 5Combine 2 tablespoons cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar in a separate bowl.
    6. 6Divide cookie dough into 5 bowls, and add a different food coloring to each bowl. You can decide what colors to use and how dark/light you want them to be, depending on your color theme you may only want to use 3 or 4 different colors.
    7. 7Take out a little bit of dough from each bowl and roll them together to form 1" balls. Roll each ball in your sugar/cinnamon mixture for an even coat. (Note: Do not smash different colored dough together, gently roll them together to form a multicolored ball).
    8. 8Place each 1" ball on a parchment lined or nonstick cookie sheet.
    9. 9Bake at 325 degrees for approximately 10 minutes, or until edges start to crinkle.
    10. 10Cool on a wire rack. Cookies should be soft and mushy, be careful not to over-bake.
