Five ingredients and just two steps is all you need to make these zesty tuna salad sandwiches – a wonderful dinner ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

1
can (12 ounces) tuna packed in water, drained and flaked
1/2
cup tartar sauce
2
tablespoons grated lemon peel
1
cup thinly sliced romaine
4
crusty French rolls (6 to 8 inches long), split

Directions

  • 1 Mix tuna, tartar sauce and lemon peel.
  • 2 Fill rolls with romaine and tuna salad
Tips

Mayonnaise or salad dressing can be substituted for the tartar sauce.

Try whole wheat bread in place of the French rolls.

Add 1 tablespoon of capers to the tuna salad mixture.

Rémoulade is a classic French sauce made by mixing mayonnaise, mustard, capers and pickles. Tartar sauce, which consists of mayonnaise, capers, pickles and lemon juice, is a quick and easy substitute.
