Ingredients

cups uncooked penne pasta (8 oz)
1/2
lb lean ground turkey
2
cloves garlic, minced
1/2
teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4
teaspoon fennel seed, crushed, if desired
2
cups fat-free extra-chunky tomato pasta sauce
1/4
teaspoon sugar
1/2
cup finely shredded or shredded mozzarella cheese (2 oz)

Directions

  • 1 Cook pasta as directed on package. Drain; cover to keep warm.
  • 2 Meanwhile, heat 10-inch nonstick skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add turkey, garlic, Italian seasoning and fennel; cook 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until turkey is no longer pink.
  • 3 Stir in pasta sauce and sugar. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes to blend flavors. Serve sauce over pasta; sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
