Turkey Burgers

My husband is a recovering vegetarian. He isn't comfortable eating beef yet, so I've found a way for us to enjoy stove-top burgers without the cow.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp spicy brown mustard
  • 1 Tbsp dried basil
  • 1 handful shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3  toasted potato rolls

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. (I prefer to do it by hand for more thorough mixing.)

  2. Set stove range to medium heat under large frying pan. (I like around "4" on my gas stove.)

  3. Form 3 nice-sized burger patties (you could also do 4 slightly smaller ones) from the prepared turkey.

  4. Let brown on one side for about 5 minutes, flip, brown on other side until the pinkness in the middle is mostly gone.

  5. Flip one more time, add cheese to each and cover. Let cheese melt on top, about 3 minutes longer.

  6. Remove from pan and serve on toasted potato roll.
