Make this homemade salsa with watermelon, vegetables, lime juice and jalapeño chiles – a perfect accompaniment to your meal.

Ingredients

6
cups diced seeded watermelon, drained
1
cup chopped green bell pepper
6
tablespoons fresh lime juice
2
tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2
tablespoons chopped fresh basil
6
green onions, thinly sliced
2
chopped seeded medium jalapeño chiles
1
teaspoon garlic salt

Directions

  • 1 In large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
Tips

The “heat” of a chile quickly transfers from the seeds and membrane to hands, and it can irritate your skin. When working with chiles, wear gloves and use a knife and fork. Do not touch your face, especially your eyes and lips, while you are working with chiles.

Serve this sweet-hot salsa with grilled fish or Fish Tacos.
