Step By Step

A creamy, velvety sweet cocktail to ring in the New Year!

As prepared by Buns in my Oven,

This sparkly white cocktail uses chocolate vodka and sweetened condensed milk. What's not to love?

It’s the mooooooost wonderful time of the yeeeeeaaaarrrrrr!

Sorry, guys. I promise to never sing to you again. It ain’t pretty.

It’s just that New Year’s Eve is nearly upon us. Which means it’s time to stock that liquor cabinet, am I right? Any holiday that revolves around delicious cocktails and staying up half the night with good friends is a winner in my book. Also, kissing at midnight. That’s always fun.

I’ve created a new cocktail that is perfect for your winter party festivities! A smooth and creamy, sweet and chocolaty White Velvet Cocktail made with two of my favorite things.

Vodka. It’s one of my truest loves, but don’t tell my husband I said that. Also, sweetened condensed milk. It’s not weird to eat that with my cereal for breakfast, right?

Let’s do this!

White Velvet Cocktail

You'll need a bottle of chocolate-flavored vodka. Yes, such a wondrous thing does exist. And you'll need some sweetened condensed milk, cocktail glasses, and if you want to be all fancy like me, some edible glitter for rimming the glass.

White Velvet Cocktail

First up, lets add some sparkle to our glasses by rolling the outside edge of the glass in a little water. Then you’ll do that same thing, but roll it in the edible glitter instead. She’s gorgeous already, isn’t she?

Now, let’s get mixing. You’ll just need two parts of chocolate vodka to one part of condensed milk. You can totally play with that ratio for a sweeter and creamier drink. Shake that around in a cocktail shaker and then strain into your glasses!

White Velvet Cocktail

Both my husband and I really liked a 1:1 ratio, but found it too sweet to drink more than a little. Almost like a chocolate syrup...which is definitely not a bad thing, just not something we could see ourselves guzzling all night long. Aaaaand, I like to guzzle my drinks all night long. Adding that extra bit of vodka upped the chocolate flavor, but downplayed the sweetness and made it something I could consume in dangerous quantities. *burp*

Play around and see what ratio you like best, but definitely give this one a try. Creamy, sweet, boozy perfection is right here!
