Dinner ready in 45 minutes! Serve your family with beans flavored with barbecue sauce topped with Pillsbury® Grands!® Refrigerated Buttermilk Biscuits.

Ingredients

1/2
cup barbecue sauce
1
teaspoon prepared mustard
1
(28-oz.) can baked beans, undrained
1
(15-oz.) can garbanzo beans, drained, rinsed
1
(15-oz.) can kidney beans, drained, rinsed
4
oz. (1 cup) shredded Cheddar cheese
1
(10.8-oz.) can (5 biscuits) Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Refrigerated Buttermilk Biscuits
2
tablespoons cornmeal

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 12x8-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • 2 In large saucepan, combine all ingredients except biscuits and cornmeal. Bring to a boil. Pour into sprayed casserole.
  • 3 Separate dough into 5 biscuits. Cut each into quarters. Roll biscuit pieces in cornmeal; arrange over mixture in casserole. Discard any leftover cornmeal.
  • 4 Bake at 350°F. for 30 to 35 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
Tips

Also called chickpeas, garbanzo beans are popular in Mediterranean, Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines. Garbanzo beans are also appreciated in Spain and Mexico. These mild, tan beans have found their way into American regional West and Southwestern recipes.

This meatless main dish is an excellent source of dietary fiber and iron.

Casseroles with biscuit toppings must be assembled while the filling is piping hot. The heat from the filling cooks the biscuits from the bottom while the heat from the oven cooks them from the top.
