Have you ever eaten an entire package of Sour Patch Kids?
Believe me, I’ve done it…that sour, gummy, tongue twisting flavor gets me every time! You can imagine how thrilled I was when I found Sour Patch Fruits! I first discovered this sour fruit treat from the blog Sweet Treats and More. Thank goodness too, because she saved me a lot of time by discovering the plastic bag method – you’ll see what I’m talking about in a second.
All you need for these tart treats are fruits of your choosing and gelatin powder. I chose green grapes and lime gelatin powder, and experimented further with making sour blueberries and strawberries. Pucker up people–it’s about to get sour up in here.
Directions:
Wash your fruit – you can skip the step of drying them; these puppies need to be wet for the gelatin to properly stick! Pour the powder in a plastic baggie (the aforementioned plastic bag trick) and shake your fruits around in the closed bag! Voila! You can let them cool down in the fridge for a few hours, or you can start snacking right away!
So the next time you want to down a bag of Sour Patch Kids, reach for some fresh produce instead. Get your daily fruits with a twist… a tart twist!
