<B>To Boil: Spears</B>--Heat 1 inch water (salted if desired) to boiling in deep, narrow pan. Place stalks upright in pan. Boil uncovered 5 minutes; cover and boil 7 to 10 minutes for 1 1/2 pounds or until crisp-tender. <B>Pieces--</B>Add lower stalk pieces to boiling water; boil uncovered 6 minutes. Add tips; cover and boil 5 to 8 minutes for 1 1/2 pounds or until crisp-tender; drain.
